MOSAIC HOTELS AT THE QUEEN OF HILLS

Mosaic Hotel in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand

HILLS !!! Do you feel any connection with this term. Do you get a sense of belonging whenever you are surrounded by serene, calm and quiet mountains. They don’t speak a word yet they have so much to say. This is how poetic I become when I am around my most loved possessions of life; Memories that I make on Hills. I could strongly feel this connection between me and the high-rise mountains and I was just proved right with my recent visit to Mosaic Hotel in Mussoorie. Well, this was my third trip to hills in last 30 days and I just can’t get enough of it.

Saying yes, to Mosaic Hotel in Mussoorie came as a natural instinct to me (For my love of hills) But writing about is a tough nut to crack,The reason being this trip was so picturesque that my words might not do the justice. Anyway, I am going to try my level best to give you all the nitty gritties of my trip to Mosaic Hotel in Mussoorie.

Let’s begin the Journey :

So we took a shatabdi from New Delhi railway station to Dehradun. The train journey was decent as shatabdi has its in-house catering service. As we got down from the train, I could see the Mosaic Hotel Staff waiting to escort us to the property. The drive from Dehradun to Mussoorie is approximately of  1 hour and 15 minutes (Unless you find unreasonable traffic ). As you move uphill, the routte is thrilling as it gets really steep at times.

& We Reach:

You can actually see this property from far as its one of high-rise buildings built at the most apt location ever possible in Mussoorie. To put it straight, Mosaic Hotel is located just at the beginning of Mall Road, Mussoorie. You walk 20 steps and you are at the Infamous Mall road.

The first impression :

As a fan of Grandeur, I wasn’t too impressed with the entrance of the Mosaic Hotels, But all my murmuring stopped the moment I got down from the lift at the reception area. Everything is done very tastefully and with great sense of detailing. The beautifully done Reception area had my heart on the first sight .Hotel in mussoorie

Just Adjacent to the reception area, they have an open air restaurant, Charcoal. I was so sure looking at the hills and streets of Mussoorie from Charcoal that I knew this was my spot for the morning and evening tea.

My Room :

Mosaic Hotel in Mussoorie offers three types of rooms, The Attic being the most premium one & Guess what I got the best one to stay without even asking for it. Yayyy

As we headed for lunch at their all day dining Restaurant “Random” this is all we ate. Isn’t my plate too much to resist

There were couple of activities planned for us by the Mosaic hotel, Mussoorie we opted out of it for day 1. The bed and the blankets look too tempting after the sumptuous afternoon meal.

As the evening arrives, it became slightly chilly and the woolens found the way out of the briefcase. Heading to Mall road was the next thing on my mind. As we moved on the streets of Mussoorie, handicrafts shops and eating outlets caught the fancy.

It took us 2 hours to complete the stretch of mall road and get back to our hotel. We headed straight to the dinner buffet arranged at Random Restaurant.

Hotel in mussoorieThe First Morning :

Do you guys dream of the food you might be served at breakfast. Well, I do !

I might not crave for a great breakfast when I am home, But if I am staying at a hotel, suddenly I become this one person who looks for lavish breakfast spread ranging from Indian to international flavors. To my rescue I was not disappointed. The breakfast buffet served at the Mosiac Hotel is just too perfect.

From freshly cut fruits, to the juices, array of spa water. They had south Indian dosas & idlis , north Indian chole bhature ,poha, Daliya , poori bhaji. Salamis, sausages, grilled exotic veggies with sprinkled herbs to satisfy your taste buds.

Common’Sass ki Baat : The must’s and the must not’s at Mosaic Hotel in Mussoorie

Do ask for the room which has a view. Though my room was pretty, strangely it had no view.

Chicken bharta is really THE thing for one of the meals.

For all the vegetairian out there Vilayeti sabzi is a must eat here. Exotic veggies mixed in a creamy gravy.

Crispy outer covering with a sweet n spicy taste. Honey chilli lotus stem gets a thumbs up.

Murgh angari tikka. Chicken made in barbeque style with raw spices. This is the OMG Dish.

For the soups do try, Roasted tomato & Bell Pepper and chicken wonton soup.

Try the Mocktail “fruit Punch”, refreshing and Healthy!

Order specific Dishes instead of going for Buffet at Dinner.

The Desserts at Mosaic seem to have lost the battle.Nothing extraordinary.

Sad, but this place doesn’t serve alcohol so no cocktails for you.

Do experience the In-house Mosaic spa and try the Swedish massage and the chocolate body scrub.

Carry some cash while exploring the Mall road. I can guarantee some shopping.

Do Go to Lovely omelet centre at Mall road, Mussorie. I am not kidding we waited for 45 minutes for that omellete but it was worth all the effort. This omelet is a magic !

Must head for a nature walk, Camel back road and an adventurous trek at pari Tibba. PS: Carry your sports/trekking shoes.
